10D/9N Photography Grand Trip

Highlights:

Capturing daily life activities, street moments and local culture alongside the coastline of Central Vietnam. Visiting Phan Rang, Nha Trang, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Tam Tien, Hoi An and Hue. The trip will have about 25 sessions.

Memotret kegiatan sehari-hari, momen di jalanan dan budaya lokal sepanjang garis pantai Vietnam Tengah. Mengunjungi Phan Rang, Nha Trang, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Tam Tien, Hoi An and Hue. Trip ini berisikan lebih kurang 25 sesi.

The itinerary:

DAY 1: Arrival at Cam Ranh Airport – Phan Rang

The arrival time is scheduled at 11:45 am, then we will have lunch on the way to Phan Rang. After lunch we continue to Nam Chuon sand dunes to shoot some conceptual photos.

Kedatangan di bandara Cam Ranh kiran-kira jam 11:45 pagi, langsung menuju kota Phan Rang dan makan siang di perjalanan. Sesi pertama menotret di gurun pasir Nam Chuon.

In late afternoon we will check-in to the hotel in Phan Rang city. Then go out having dinner and back to the hotel to take some rest.

Selesai memotret kita akan cekin di hotel di kota Phan Rang, makan malam dan kembali ke hotel untuk istirahat.

DAY 2: Phan Rang – Nha Trang

After having local food breakfast, we go to a village to take photos of Champa people. In this village we will capture daily life, portraits of the elder and portrait of the famous young girl with blue eyes.

Setelah sarapan lanjut ke kampung Campa untuk memotret pembuatan keramik dan potret orang-orang lokal.

After shooting at Champa village, we will have lunch at the restaurant with local food. Then taking some rest before continue to take photos of shepherd in another village. We check-out from the hotel.

Selanjutnya kita makan siang. Setelah istirahat kita cekout dan dilanjutkan memotret penggembala domba.

After shooting the shepherd we move to Nha Trang. Before check-in to the hotel we will have dinner on the way.

Setelah memotret penggembala kita menuju kota Phan Rang dan makan malam sebelum cekin di hotel.

DAY 3: Nha Trang – Phu Yen

Early in the morning, about 04:00 am we go to salt farm in Doc Let area. The location is about 30 km from Nha Trang. Before sunrise until 07:30 am we will take photos of salt farmer activities.

Pagi hari sekitar jam 04:00 kita pergi memotret petani garam di daerah Doc Let yang berlokasi sekitar 30 km dari hotel.

After salt farm, we will have a local food breakfast then go back to Nha Trang. On the way we shoot the sailor fixing the net.

Setelah itu kita memotret nelayan menjahit jaring raksasa lalu. kembali ke hotel. Sarapan makanan lokal di perjalanan.

Take some rest, preparing to move to Phu Yen, about 120km from Nha Trang. We have lunch on the way. Before reaching Phu Yen, we will shoot seashore fishing. The fishing activities are about 2 – 5 km from the beach, the only way to take the photos is using drone.

Setelah beristirahat kita melanjutkan perjalanan ke Phu Yen, sekitar 120km dari Nha Trang. Makan siang di perjalanan. Sebelum memasuki kota Phu Yen kita akan memotret nelayan menangkap ikan di laut menggunakan jaring raksasa. Hanya bisa menggunakan drone.

Check-in to the hotel in Phu Yen, have dinner and take some rest.

Cekin di hotel, sebelumnya kita makan malam dulu.

DAY 4: Phu Yen – Binh Dinh

After breakfast, we will shoot how local people making mat from grass.

Setelah sarapan kita menuju lokasi penduduk lokal membuat tikar pandan.

Go back to the hotel preparing to check-out. After lunch on the way to Binh Dinh we will take photos of local people making rounded boat.

Kembali ke hotel dan siap-siap untuk menuju kota selanjutnya tempat pembuatan perahu bulat.

Continue to move to another city, Binh Dinh. On the way we may stop to take some drone photos.

Perjalanan dilanjutkan ke kota berikutnya, Binh Dinh.

DAY 5: Binh Dinh

Before breakfast in the morning we will shoot local people catching fish at seaweed pond. Here we can only shoot using drone.

Sebelum sarapan kita memotret penduduk lokal memanen rumput laut. Hanya menggunakan drone.

After lunch we will take photos of Champa traditional dancing.

Setelah makan siang dilanjutkan memotret tari tradisional Campa di komplek candi.

DAY 6: Binh Dinh – Tam Tien

Early in the morning we go to the village where the local people making and drying rice paper, take few hours taking photos. Rice paper made from rice is a variant of Vietnam local food.

Sebelum matahari terbit kita berangkat untuk memotret penduduk lokal membuat rice paper lalu sarapan dalam perjalanan kembali ke hotel.

Go back to the hotel, preparing to move to Tam Tien. On the way we stop to take local people making Nonla. What is nonla? Nonla is traditional hat which is part of Vietnam national identity. Actually the hat is widely used in another countries in South East Asia with different styles.

Kembali ke hotel, istirahat sebentar dan bersiap untuk berangkat ke kota berikutnya. Dalam perjalanan kita akan memotret penduduk lokal membuat topi khas Vietnam yang disebut Nonla.

We will have lunch on the way to Tam Tien. In the afternoon we reach Tam Tien and check-in to the hotel.

Kita menuju kota berikutnya Tam Tien dan makan siang di perjalanan.

DAY 7: Tam Tien – Hoi An

Early morning we go to fish market on the beach. Taking free style street photos and drone.

Sebelum matahari terbit kita menuju pasar ikan tradisional di sebuah desa pantai.

After taking photos on the beach, we have breakfast on the way back to the hotel and take some rest while preparing to move to Hoi An. Upon reaching Hoi An we will have lunch before check-in to the hotel. In the afternoon we go to the farm shooting people cutting the grass.

Selanjutnya kira sarapan dalam perjalanan kembali ke hotel, lalu istirahat sebentar sambil bersiap menuju Hoi An. Sesampai di Hoi An kita makan saing dan cekin di hotel. Setelah istirahat sebentar kita menuju sebuah desa di mana orang lokal memanen rumput untuk pembuatan tikar.

Then shooting rounded boat. Rounded boat is unique to Vietnam, we can’t find it anywhere except Vietnam. After taking photos of how they make the boat in Phu Yen on Day 4, in this area we will take the photos what the rounded boat use for. Using drone is highly recommended.

Lalu memotret perahu bulat. Perahu ini unik dan hanya ada di Vietnam. Sebelumnya kita sudah memotret cara pembuatan di Hung Yen pada hari ke-empat. Di sini kita memotret salah satu kegunaan perahu bulat itu.

Go back to the hotel or continue to Hoi An old town to take some street and drone in the afternoon. After dinner in old quarter Hoi An, go back to the hotel and rest.

Kita kembali ke hotel atau lanjut ke kota tua Hoi An untuk memotret street/drone di sore hari dan makan malam di kota tua, setelah itu kembali ke hotel untuk istirahat.

DAY 8: Hoi An – Hue

Early in the morning we go to Hoi An river taking photos of fisherman by boat. You’ll have the experience to see how local people do the fishing in river. This is not an imaginary photo concept.

Subuh kita menuju sungai Hoi An untuk memotret nelayan menangkap ikan. Di sepanjang perjalanan di atas kapal kita juga bisa memotret kehidupan nelayan. Ini bukanlah konsep imajinatif, tetapi kehidupan sehari-hari nelayan di sana.

Go back to Hoi An old quarter taking street photos and portrait. In the morning, Hoi An is very quiet and peaceful. With good light we will get so many good photos here.

Sekembalinya kita memotret suasana pagi yang lengang di kota tua Hoi An.

Back to the hotel, rest and prepare to check-out. Move to last city on our trip, Hue. We will stop nearby a beautiful lagoon to have lunch on the way.

Kembali ke hotel, istirahat sebentar lalu bersiap untuk menuju kota Hue. Di perjalanan kita akan berhenti di laguna yang indah untuk makan siang.

We will reach Hue in the afternoon and after check-in. Around 15:30 we will take photos of local people throwing the nets.

Kita akan sampai di Hue pada sore hari. Sekitar pukul 15:30 kita akan memotret nelayan melempar jala di sungai yang letaknya tidak jauh dari hotel.

In late afternoon we shoot Hoa Dang ritual. Long time ago in this river people dropping the flowers into the river to respect their ancestors and praying for better future. Today we recreate that scene in photography.

Setelah itu dilanjutkan dengan memotret ritual Hoa Dang. Sebuah ritual di sana membuang bunga di sungai untuk menghormati leluhur dan berdoa untuk masa depan yang baik.

DAY 9: Hue

Early in the morning we go to Ru Cha. Ru Cha is mangrove swamp where people catching the fish traditionally, part of that lagoon system.

Pagi sekali kita menuju Ru Cha, sebuah hutan mangrove di mana biasanya penduduk lokal menangkap ikan.

Go to Tomb Khai Dinh, where most of ancient kings and family buried.

Selanjutnya setelah sarapan kita ke menuju Khai Dinh, tempat di mana para kaisar kuno dimakamkan.

Have lunch then go back to the hotel. If we have time we go to incense stick village.

Dilanjutkan makan siang lalu kembali ke hotel untuk beristirahat. Jika memungkinkan kita mampir ke tempat penjualan dupa terbesar di Hue.

The last session is taking photos Van Thanh temple. The temple is located side by side with old cemetery. People usually took a pray in the temple.

Sesi terakhir adalah memotret di biara Van Thanh. Biara ini letaknya bedampingan dengan pemakaman kuno di mana biasanya penduduk lokal berdoa untuk arwah nenek moyang mereka.

DAY 10: Hue – Danang Airport

Early in the morning we go to Dam Chuon lagoon to shoot fisherman. Dam Chuon is one of the largest lagoon in South East Asia located about 7km outside Hue.

Subuh kita menuju ke laguna Dam Chuon memotret nelayan memancing dan kehidupan di sana. Laguna ini adalah yang terbesar di Asia Tenggara.

After breakfast, we check-out from the hotel and go to Danang airport about 2,5 hours. The trip is ended.

Setelah sarapan kita segera meninggalkan hotal menuju bandara Danang yang berjarak sekitar 2,5 jam perjalanan.

NOTES:

• The itinerary is subject to be adjusted depends on the situation.
• Photos in this itinerary should be considered as reference.
• Hue is the center of Vietnam culture, there are many thing we can take photos here other than what included in the itinerary. If you want to take more, 1 or 2 days extend can be requested with additional cost.
• The trip should be confirmed 45 days before departure.

The trip will be lead by Yos, HIPA 2019-2020 winning photographer, who had been visited and leading photo trip to Vietnam many times. Support by best local photographer.

Please contact me for more detail about the schedule and pricing. Usually this trip will be running between May – July every year. At that time most of the locations in Central Vietnam have good light condition. You can also request a private group (with up to 6 participants) for this trip.
