10D/9N Photography Grand Trip

Highlights:

Capturing daily life activities, street moments and local culture alongside the coastline of Central Vietnam. Visiting Phan Rang, Nha Trang, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Tam Tien, Hoi An and Hue. The trip will have about 25 sessions.

The itinerary:

DAY 1: Arrival at Cam Ranh Airport – Phan Rang

The arrival time is scheduled at 11:45 am, then we will have lunch on the way to Phan Rang. After lunch we continue to Nam Chuon sand dunes to shoot some conceptual photos.

In late afternoon we will check-in to the hotel in Phan Rang city. Then go out having dinner and back to the hotel to take some rest.

DAY 2: Phan Rang – Nha Trang

After having local food breakfast, we go to a village to take photos of Champa people. In this village we will capture daily life, portraits of the elder and portrait of the famous young girl with blue eyes.

After shooting at Champa village, we will have lunch at the restaurant with local food. Then taking some rest before continue to take photos of shepherd in another village. We check-out from the hotel.

After shooting the shepherd we move to Nha Trang. Before check-in to the hotel we will have dinner on the way.

DAY 3: Nha Trang – Phu Yen

Early in the morning, about 04:00 am we go to salt farm in Doc Let area. The location is about 30 km from Nha Trang. Before sunrise until 07:30 am we will take photos of salt farmer activities.

After salt farm, we will have a local food breakfast then go back to Nha Trang. On the way we shoot the sailor fixing the net.

Take some rest, preparing to move to Phu Yen, about 120km from Nha Trang. We have lunch on the way. Before reaching Phu Yen, we will shoot seashore fishing. The fishing activities are about 2 – 5 km from the beach, the only way to take the photos is using drone.

Check-in to the hotel in Phu Yen, have dinner and take some rest.

DAY 4: Phu Yen – Binh Dinh

After breakfast, we will shoot how local people making mat from grass.

Go back to the hotel preparing to check-out. After lunch on the way to Binh Dinh we will take photos of local people making rounded boat.

Continue to move to another city, Binh Dinh. On the way we may stop to take some drone photos.

DAY 5: Binh Dinh

After breakfast in the morning we will shoot local people catching fish at seaweed pond. Here we can only shoot using drone.

After lunch we will take photos of Champa traditional dancing.

DAY 6: Binh Dinh – Tam Tien

Early in the morning we go to the village where the local people making and drying rice paper, take few hours taking photos. Rice paper made from rice is a variant of Vietnam local food.

Go back to the hotel, preparing to move to Tam Tien. On the way we stop to take local people making Nonla. What is nonla? Nonla is traditional hat which is part of Vietnam national identity. Actually the hat is widely used in another countries in South East Asia with different styles.

We will have lunch on the way to Tam Tien. In the afternoon we reach Tam Tien and check-in to the hotel.

DAY 7: Tam Tien – Hoi An

Early morning we go to fish market on the beach. Taking free style street photos and drone.

After taking photos on the beach, we have breakfast on the way back to the hotel and take some rest while preparing to move to Hoi An. Upon reaching Hoi An we will have lunch before check-in to the hotel. In the afternoon we go to the farm shooting people cutting the grass.

Then rounded boat. Rounded boat is unique to Vietnam, we can’t find it anywhere except Vietnam. After taking photos of how they make the boat in Phu Yen on Day 4 , in this area we will take the photos what the rounded boat use for. Using drone is highly recommended.

Go back to the hotel or continue to Hoi An old town to take some street and drone in the afternoon. After dinner in old quarter Hoi An, go back to the hotel and rest.

DAY 8: Hoi An – Hue

Early in the morning we go to Hoi An river taking photos of fisherman by boat. You’ll have the experience to see how local people do the fishing in river. This is not an imaginary photo concept.

Go back to Hoi An old quarter taking street photos and portrait. In the morning, Hoi An is very quiet and peaceful. With good light we will get so many good photos here.

Back to the hotel, rest and prepare to check-out. Move to last city on our trip, Hue. We will stop nearby a beautiful lagoon to have lunch on the way.

We will reach Hue in the afternoon and after check-in. Around 15:30 we will take photos of local people throwing the nets.

In late afternoon we shoot Hoa Dang ritual. Long time ago in this river people dropping the flowers into the river to respect their ancestors and praying for better future. Today we recreate that scene in photography.

DAY 9: Hue

Early in the morning we go to Ru Cha. Ru Cha is mangrove swamp where people catching the fish traditionally, part of that lagoon system.

Go to Tomb Khai Dinh, where most of ancient kings and family buried.

Have lunch the go back to the hotel. If we have time we go to incense stick village.

The last session is taking photos Van Thanh temple to have afternoon/evening session. The temple is located side by side with old cemetery. People usually took a pray in the temple.

DAY 10: Hue – Danang Airport

Early in the morning we go to Dam Chuon lagoon to shoot fisherman. Dam Chuon is one of the largest lagoon in South East Asia located about 7km outside Hue.

After breakfast, we check-out from the hotel and go to Danang airport about 2,5 hours. The trip is ended

NOTES:

  • The itinerary is subject to be adjusted depends on the situation.
  • Photos in this itinerary should be considered as reference.
  • Hue is the center of Vietnam culture, there are many thing we can take photos here other than what included in the itinerary. If you want to take more, 1 or 2 days extend can be requested with additional cost.
  • The trip should be confirmed 45 days before departure.

Please contact me for more detail about the schedule and pricing. Usually this trip will be running between May – July every year. At that time most of the locations in Central Vietnam have good light condition. You can also request a private group (with up to 7 participants) for this trip.
